Road Development Authority in Sri
Lanka has decided to implement Pavement Management System using HDM-4 as
analysis tool. HIMS software is selected for implementation of Road
Information System for data storage and processing. HDM-4 Information
Management System template has been configured to the RDA planning
requirements. RDA Director Mr. Amersekera Ratnanayake on HIMS:
"The Location
Referencing Maintenance module of HIMS is found very useful tool. It
allowed automatic dynamic shifting of the data when a location of given
point of the road network
is modified, hence saving enormous amount of manual work.
Also, with automated processes the time required for data preparation for the
whole network is reduced to hours in comparison to weeks".

Mr. Tauch Chankosal, Director of WB-PIU1 says -
"We found HIMS is very flexible and user friendly for developing a Road Management and Decision Support System with varied requirements. HIMS has provided an excellent and seamless interface with our data collection equipment (ROMDAS, WIM and Kuab FWD). We found that HIMS Reporter module was very useful for disseminating the information".
